Samsung EVO and EVO+ microSDHC

I only sell the Samsung Evo and Evo+ for use in Raspberry Pi based media centers for one simple reason…They are the fastest cards available for a reasonable price.

According to geek.com

“There’s an abundance of micro SD cards out there, but which one offers the best value for money and speedy data reading and writing? Jeff Geerling, a technical architect at Acquia and clearly a geek, set out to answer that question using a Raspberry Pi and a dozen commonly available microSD cards.

What he found was that there’s “an order-of-magnitude difference between most cheap cards and the slightly-more-expensive ones.” That equates to certain I/O operations being up to 100x slower on the (slightly) cheaper cards, making them worth avoiding.”

And what was Jeff’s conclusion?

“However, judging by performance vs. price, there are a couple clear standout cards—one is the Samsung Evo+, which is the fastest card for random access by a mile…Other than that, I’d go with the SanDisk Extreme, as it can be had for about the same price, or the Samsung Evo (without the +), as it can be had for even less if you just need 8 or 16 GB”
